I purchased the electric fire insert to place in to an old small fire place in a 1950s house, I didn't want a real fire due to the mess and an electric fire just wouldn't cut it, so this was a great alternative. It was very well packed, delivered quickly and easily installed. The spacer allows the fire to fit perfectly into any gap, however we decided we didn't need it and after a little adjustment to the bricks, the fire fitted well without it. It is a very well made product and very good value for money as it also includes the coal which is more than enough to make it look like a real fire, the funnel which is a must to use when filling and of course the burner with the fragrance diffuser. The burner is easy to light, I purchased separately a long piezo lighter which is much safer than a match, when the oil is cold it does take a couple of times to light, hence the lighter. The slider on the burner works well in reducing the heat and extinguishes the fire. Overall I am very pleased with the product and would recommend.
