Safety

The bio fireplaces produced and distributed by Bio Fires are laboratory tested for safety. The proper functioning of the fireplace will only be guaranteed if our own label fuel is used.

The general safety rules are:

• Keep burning fireplaces away from the reach of children
• Do not put anything in the flame, always keep the flame opening clear and never put logs or pebbles across the flame (only around) as this will cause soot and fumes.
• Do not cover the fireplace and do not place any flammable material or clothing directly on the fireplace or close to it.
• Only our Bio Fuel should be used in our fireplaces
• Do not smoke whilst filling the fireplace!
• Never top up the fuel before extinguishing the fire and letting it cool down
• Never leave a lit fireplace unattended
• Never fan or blow on the fire
• Keep the fuel away from the any source of heat or ignition.
• Do not use Bio Fuel in a Gel fireplace unless specified by us.

The bio-containers in the bio fireplaces do not require cleaning as the Bio Fuel burns cleanly with no residue. The surround of the stainless steel fireplaces can be cleaned with baby oil, all the other fireplaces will clean quite easily with traditional methods.
